Cold apartment, hot outside
So we are currently at a 30 degree temperature difference between the apartment and outside. Our thermometer indoors says 68, while the one outdoors says 95. I decided to clean Kili's cage out with the hose yesterday and decided that it would be good for her to go outside and play in the sun. Well she wouldn't have it. She would relax in our hands then run around a little, then she would stop, stand and prickle up. I'm wondering if the temperature change gave her some stress.
We brought her back in once the cage was clean and sure enough, she was happily running around again on the wheel come bedtime for us.
Family gathering
So Adam was having a graduation party at his parents house so we brought Kili with us. Not only was she the star of the show, getting a lot of attention from all his relatives, but Kili also got to run around the green green grass of the lawn for a long time. At one point she ran in a straight line for the entire length of the yard I would allow her to visit. Including what must have been a big hill for her.
Adam's uncle Steve was quite happy to meet a hedgehog. He told us he had looked into buying one for his daughter years ago, but his wife doesn't like animals.
Kili was glad to find her cage again, and her beloved wheel. She ran on it most of the night. This morning, when we woke up, we found her still running, getting off on occasion to run around the cage then right back to her wheel. Ooops, wrong stop. This isn't the one with the green green grass :-P
Intro

This is a blog for my hedgehog
Kilimanjaro-Moriah usually known as Kili, Kili-Mo, or KiliHog. Thus the webaddress of this blog. Kili was bred by Kelly at Hamor Hollow in Massachusetts. The little Cinnacot was born on May 5th 2005 and I brought her home in early August of 2005.Kili is a very active hedgehog who greatly loves running around our 1 bedroom apartment in her ball. I plan on writing of the adventures had because of owning a hedgehog. Although this journal will probably not be frequently updated.
